Reading "Power of Positive Thinking": afterthoughts

I bought this book (Power Of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale) a few months ago. Heard about it before, highly credited. Apparently the author is an accomplished and inspired speaker. Amazing book, some pretty powerful thoughts. Haven't finished it though. Ask me why.

The author is a famous clergyman. Subsequently the book was heavily peppered with quotes from the Bible. Myself not being religious I still don't think there's anything wrong with that, however I found it difficult to keep focusing on the essential concepts due to the fact that those notions became more and more intertwined with religious concepts as I kept on reading. The religious flavour became more and more prominent until eventually it started sounding more like your typical religious propaganda. I finally stopped reading because I simply didn't feel like grinding through it anymore.

Now that being said, it is extremely powerful book. It has some powerful concepts and presents them in an understandable and entertaining way. The only issue I found with it is that it creates an impression as if Bible is the only true way to spiritual growth and happiness. But it isn't. It's simply a way...
